My country- harsh beauty.
ICELAND - as God sees it from above.
My beautiful heaven
I care a lot about those two. Alas, the are grown men now!
Peace - Ruhe - Tranqilidad
On the bright site....
Coming to Iceland (assuming you are an ecofriendly gourmet), do try this small supershop- filled to the brim with delicatessen. Everything´s coming straight from the farm, and those are self-sufficient - aren´t we all trying? The link:

Yep,and the photos on flickr are a must:

Look at those! You might drool. Thats OK.
Mind you, I do not even know the owners- but I like EVERYTHING they sell!
Assuming also that you are now well and truly landed in your appartment (smack in the middle of Reykjavik center, no less) it really is a good idea to cook, say one or too meals in the home where you happen to crash. Salmon, veal, lettuce, wine, etc. - We have plenty of high end restaurants- really good ones, but bear in mind that the prices are the high end kind, too. Nevertheless do be kind to yourself - treat you to an occasional meal out!
Another site I just remember now is this:

December in Iceland.
Sheer horror, Christmas being the only bright thing on the horizon, Well, it isn´t here yet... instead we can enjoy night almost 24 hours pr. day. Also, an effective bone breaker; slippery streets and pavements.Try to enjoy the nice minus 15°C. outside.
